Todays Cougar Cubs, Tomorrows Stars

Cash is now an official product of the Show Low Unified School District

For a brief moment, you held on to my leg, and I mean brief. But for that fleeting moment, you didn't have to say that you might miss me just a tinge, you didn't have to say that maybe you are a little bit dependent on me, and you didn't have to tell me that you loved me, because I knew.

It surprised me that there would be an ounce of nerves in that gargantuan of a personality. I don't see your nerves very often, so it softened the blow that you were just going to up and go to school without even being the slightest bit skittish about leaving your mother and sister.
Our mornings are more quiet, a little tiny bit boring, and maybe the slightest bit more easy for us now that Sailor isn't getting teased by such a fun older brother.

I've heard that once you hit kindergarten, I am going to blink and you will be graduating from High School. You and I have waited a long time for you to go to school because of how much you will love having something to do, and your insatiable thirst for WHY? WHAT? WHERE? WHO? HOW? will finally be getting a consistent drip from some one much more patient and trained than I am.
I am glad you are so big but sad it will pass so quickly. Being the oldest has it's downfalls especially since you and I are still growing up together, and you are your fathers mini me, it is amazing how resilient and happy you stay despite having so much pressure on you to be the best. I will try harder to not expect so much from you sweet boy.
I hope we taught you well.

P.S. Remember the Cougar Cub Song? Todays Cougar Cubs, Tomorrows Stars, We are the best that we can be.....
We are the best YES!
We are the best YES!
We are the best that we can be!

P.S.S. I can't remember my Fight Song from High School...sorry about that.

No i dont remember that song. Sorry. That's sweet tho. I loved reading about Cash's big day. It will be the greatest thing for him, won't it? Such a fun, sweet age. And yes, he probably missed you all morning.

I don't think we actually ever sang the fight song in High School Cait. So don't worry about that. I can't remeber it either. However, the minute I saw your blog title I started sing the Cougar Cub song ;) ha ha ha.
