This summer has been an absolute whirlwind.
And it's more than half over.
Every day there has been something we had to do.
I am in desperate need of naps, normal food, and a schedule.
I'm not saying it hasn't been fun, but there is only so much fun one can stand before they need a monotonous, boring day where things can get done. Such as toilet bowl cleaning.
It would be lying to say I'm not thrilled at the idea of Cash starting Kindergarten next month.
That boy is busy.
He needs something to do.
He is his father's son.
He does "96's" on his slip and slide and is sure to tell us about it. Although I'm still trying to watch closely for what that might be.
His goal in life is to leave the house each morning for a cousins house, stay up later than Sailor, and take a shower all by himself for eleven minutes.
He has become quite the helper though.
His routine is simple.
Hands, face, teeth, and bed. Followed by Swiffering the kitchen and helping his sister with her hands, face teeth and bed. His enthusiasm to help is overwhelming at times. I sometimes forget that it's better for him to learn to do it, than for me to do it for him.
Sailor is in the terrible twos.
She won't let me leave the room without knowing if I am staying with in 100 feet of her.
If I try to leave her with my sister, a baby sitter, or in nursery, the outcome is extremely loud.
She thinks she is the boss.
Don't call her bossy or sassy, shes just, "Saiyer"
She keeps up with all her cousins and doesn't back down.
She's naughty in all the right ways.
She has me wrapped tight, but I'm working on unwinding.
It's very hard to discipline her.
She likes me and wants tickles in bed with a song.
She tells me I "yook pretty" and that she loves me with two hands on my cheeks.
Her independence is maddening at times and I am just learning to let her cry it out, or do it herself.
I have been delighted to have some rain in the afternoons, like the summers back on Paloma. I can crack the windows, cool down and take a nap.
I still can't get over how fast time seems to be going.

2 notes:
Exactly. This summer has been a whirlwind. I can't believe that boy of yours. Kindergarten? You and Sailor are going to be extremely bored. Mark my words. And let the kid take an 11 minute shower ok? Im pretty sure his father can afford it. ;)
"A life guard had to get on his loud speaker and tell me that if I needed help to wave my oar. I couldn't hear him I was so far out, but if I would have heard him, I would have waved."
I just came across your blog again and browsed through your latest posts and read this line. It made me laugh out loud it was so funny! Thanks for the laugh!
